MEET THE TEAM
The Board
Meet our 9 Board members, the individuals leading GREEN, a group composed of 100 students. Each Board member heads a project team. Project teams consist of 5-15 people that meet every week to work on sustainability projects.
GAIA MATTIACE
President
Gaia is a junior from Potomac, MD. She is in the College double majoring in Government and Psychology, and minoring in Environmental Studies. She is passionate about issues of sustainability, renewable energy, environmental protection, and conservation. She is also very passionate about our oceans and is a certified open water scuba diver.
MICAH MUSSER
Vice President
Micah is a sophomore in the College who hails from Pennsylvania. He is majoring in government and economics and minoring in environmental studies. His environmental interests include water conservation and agricultural policy, although, like most of the board members, he also gets super excited about renewable energy technologies. His other interests include political philosophy, debate, and wood carving.
SARAH CIRESI
Secretary
Sarah is a junior in the College majoring in Mathematics. She is from Bethpage, NY and is passionate about gardening, composting, and food sustainability. She also enjoys hiking, bike riding, and drawing.
STELLA CAI
On-Campus Director
Stella is a sophomore in the SFS majoring in STIA (Environment & Energy). She believes in the power of education and outreach in spreading environmental awareness. She love all kinds of outdoor activities: hiking, running, rowing, backpacking, sleeping under the stars, practicing and teaching yoga. She is so excited to work with everyone in GREEN to make Georgetown a greener and happier place for both the people and the environment!
AUSTIN HONG
Vice President
Austin is a junior in the College and is from Wayne, NJ. Double majoring in environmental biology and English, Austin is also interested in environmental research and advocacy. He excels at making and drinking coffee and can juggle for approximately 7 seconds.
LAURIE-MAUDE CHENARD
Director of Operations - PR
Laurie is from Andover, MA and is a sophomore in the SFS, majoring in Science, Technology, and International Affairs. She leads the International Team and hopes to make an impact in the local and global community through new technologies and renewable energy. Along with her passion for sustainability, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and playing tennis.
ZACH LARKIN
Treasurer
Zach is a junior from New Hampshire, majoring in STIA in the SFS. He truly became interested in environmentalism when he formulated a plan for his high school to install a wind turbine that would produce enough energy for the entire school. Zach helps coordinate the Volunteer Group in GREEN. In addition to his environmental interests, he loves playing soccer and tennis, listening to Christmas music year round, and visiting the National Zoo!
YUOU WU
On-Campus Director
Yuou is in the SFS majoring in International Political Economy. In addition to her major, she is also pursuing a certificate in International Development with an interest in sustainable developments in developing countries. Originally from Beijing, China, Yuou is a passionate tree-hugger, loves all the outdoor activities and any opportunities that takes her closer to nature. She is particularly interested in sustainable technology and environmental economics. In addition to GREEN, Yuou is also part of the Green Fund and a Coordination and Engagement Intern at the Office of Sustainability.
